Stroh 40 Rum

Stroh 40 Rum is an iconic Austrian spiced spirit, tracing its heritage back to 1832 when it was founded by Sebastian Stroh. Due to the difficulty of sourcing true Caribbean rum in the Austro-Hungarian Empire, Stroh created his own spirit by adding unique spices, essences, and flavorings to a neutral alcohol base. This approach resulted in a distinctive product known as Inländer Rum, which is now protected by EU regulation as an exclusively Austrian spirit. Bottled at 40% ABV, Stroh 40 offers a powerful and aromatic profile characterized by notes of vanilla, caramel, clove, cinnamon, and subtle floral tones. It is renowned globally for its versatility, frequently used in baking and confectionery (such as in classic Austrian desserts like *Gugelhupf*), and as a warming, flavorful component in hot drinks like Jägertee, or complex cocktails.
