Togouchi 9 Years Whisky is a distinctive Japanese blended malt, noteworthy for its unconventional maturation process. While the whisky components are typically sourced from Scotland and Canada, the aging takes place in Japan, deep within a unique 361-meter-long disused railway tunnel in the town of Togouchi. This tunnel provides a consistently cool, humid environment, which allows the spirit to mature slowly and evenly. Bottled at 40% ABV, the 9-year expression offers a delicate and complex profile. It features inviting aromas of honeyed malt, subtle peat smoke, and creamy vanilla, leading to a smooth palate rich with toasted nuts, citrus zest, and a hint of white pepper.
